Education Department
The Pensacola Museum of Art Education Department is committed to cultivating meaningful programs that connect communities and visual culture through classes, participatory projects, and interactive and hands-on exhibition experiences.
Each exhibition tells a story, and through participation and thoughtful presentation, our staff encourages visitors to carefully consider the exhibition’s intent, content, and mission, no matter what age or learning level. We aim to be an inclusive and creative resource for Pensacola as a whole, and to serve as the gateway between the public and the Pensacola Museum of Art as an institution.
Through our classes, workshops, demonstrations, and programs, we encourage students to not only learn artistic techniques and become more engaged with their own ingenuity, but also to challenge students to consider and practice their own creativity through learning about artistic movements, relating key moments in art history, and connecting with our creative community.
Educational Opportunities
The Pensacola Museum of Art offers a variety of opportunities to continue learning and engaging. From partnering with local organizations to special events for our community, come visit us for a meaningful cultural experience and expand your creativity.
Parent's Night Out
While the kids enjoy an art experience at the museum, their parents can have a night to themselves. Drop off your children ages 8 - 12 from 5:00pm - 7:30pm on select Fridays for a night filled with making art and new friends. Students will be encouraged to experiment with a variety of media, look at art, and engage with the creativity of others through collaborative projects.
Parents get to enjoy dinner or whatever you please!
$50 per student. Please pack a dinner or snacks, reusable water bottle, and a light jacket, if desired. Pre-registration is required; may be canceled if there is low enrollment.
