Jan: Preschool Art & Story Time – Flight
Join us alongside the West Florida Public Libraries to engage your preschooler in story time and art. During this free event at the Pensacola Museum of Art, a librarian will read selections of similarly themed books and encourage movement and participation. Afterward, an art educator will lead parents and preschoolers in an art project related to the reading selections. For ages 2-5 years old. Capacity is limited and pre-registration is highly recommended. Only a couple of spots will be available for walk-ins, first come first served. Please register in advance to reserve your spots!
Description
Sat. January 11: 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm.
This month’s program is all about Flight!
Did you know? On January 11, 1935, Amelia Earhart flew solo from Hawaii to the U.S. mainland and she was the first person to achieve this feat. Her journey took her from Honolulu to Oakland, CA. The PMA’s first floor exhibition, Rising Tide, features photography by Ben Depp, is captured from a powered paraglider offering birds-eye views of the Southern Louisiana landscape.
Miss Stevie will be reading the following books:
-
ABCs on Wings by Ramon Olivera
-
Night Flight by Robert Burleigh
After reading, preschoolers will create an art project related to our theme to take home.
Cost
Free! Pre-registration is highly recommended to reserve your seats.
Audience
Designed for children ages 2-5. A parent or adult guardian/caregiver must be present with each child attending, and is expected to stay with their child for the duration of the program.
