Depth of Field showcases photography from the Pensacola Museum of Art’s permanent collection alongside objects from the UWF Historic Trust Archives. Artworks on display explore the history, science, and alchemical nature of the medium. Featured in this exhibition are more than twenty individual artists that employ various approaches and technologies to create thought-provoking photographs. Additional highlights include vintage cameras, glass negatives, tintypes, daguerreotypes, and an interactive camera lucida. This dynamic installation of the photography collection unearths new narratives of influence, innovation, and insights from the medium’s invention to the present day.

On view are works by pioneers in the field such as Alfred Stieglitz, Elliot Erwitt, Eduard J. Steichen, Walker Evans, and Vivian Maier as well as notable contemporary artists including Valerie George, Richard McCabe, Sheila Pinkel and Gesche Würfel.
