Connecting Communities: 150 years of Temple Beth El

March 12, 2026 -

March 29, 2026

Exhibition overview

Pensacola holds the distinction of being home to Florida’s earliest documented Jewish community, dating back to the 1760s. For generations, Jewish life has been woven into the city’s cultural fabric.

In celebration of its 150th anniversary, Temple Beth El invites visitors to explore Connecting Communities, a special exhibition featuring curated artwork from the Temple’s collection alongside historic artifacts from the UWF Historic Trust. Together, these pieces offer an intimate look at a community whose shared history and traditions have helped shape Pensacola’s identity over centuries.

The exhibition opens at the Pensacola Museum of Art on March 12 for a brief engagement before moving to Temple Beth El on Palafox Street.

Please join us for the opening reception at the Pensacola Museum of Art on Thursday, March 12th, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served, courtesy of Classic City Catering.
