After School Art

Grades 2-6, every Thursday 3:30 P.M - 5:00 P.M.


Spring 2026 Semester Program Dates: January 15 - May 7.


 


 
Description

In our semester-long studio art program, students will develop their artistic skills by engaging in all aspects of the creative process from planning, to concept, to creation. Each class will introduce emerging artists to a wide variety of 2D and 3D media, encouraging self expression through the development and practice of art and design fundamentals. Artists meet weekly in the PMA's art classroom to create a wide variety of art projects over the course of 16 weeks. The final class session culminates in an artwork showcase for parents and family. Maximum of 12 students.

Mini Makers

Ages 4 - 6
Thursdays, 2:00 - 3:00 P.M.


Offered in two 8-week terms, Fall and Spring.


   SPRING 2026 Term 1: January 15 - March 5.


   SPRING 2026 Term 2: March 10 - May 7. (Registration opens Jan. 31st)


   
Description

In our Mini Makers program, young students will begin to develop creativity and hone fine motor skills by exploring a wide variety of art materials, engaging in different types of sensory and tactile experiences through the process of making art. In each class, students practice various exercises for improving dexterity while utilizing a range of fine motor skills. Encourages self-expression, developing artistic and creative skills that apply to every aspect of your mini maker's future.


This program meets weekly for 8-week terms in the PMA's art classroom. There are two terms in both the Fall and Spring semesters. Maximum of 9 students each term. There is an interactive family space just down the hall in close proximity to the classroom where parents can wait if desired. The end of each term culminates in an artwork showcase for parents and family to view on the last session.

Next Generation Homeschool

Meets once per week for 2 hours.

Wed. PM, Ages 10+: Group C: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Make the art museum part of your homeschool studies! This program adheres to the National Visual Arts Standards and is designed to introduce students to a wide range of art materials, developing creativity and artistic skills. Focuses on the elements of art and principles of design while incorporating a variety of core subjects. Maximum of 12 students, minimum of 4 students per group. The last session of each term culminates in an artwork showcase for parents and family members to view on the last session date.

Description

Art Academy for Autism is an arts education initiative designed for children and young adults on the autism spectrum. This monthly program on Saturdays, focuses on nurturing artistic development and abstract thinking skills within a group environment. Our art educators believe that self expression can help students build personal connections, increase self-esteem and self-awareness, and learn a wide variety of artistic skills. Maximum of 8 students per group. 


There is no fee for students to attend, but pre-registration for each session is required.

This program is offered by the PMA free of charge.

Cancellation Policy for PMA Semester & Term Art Programs:

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to: crhea@uwf.edu


* More than two weeks prior to the program start date: A refund will be issued, minus a $30 cancellation fee.

* 7–14 days before the start date: A 50% refund will be issued.

* Less than 7 days before, or after the program begins: No refunds will be provided.


Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis for special extenuating circumstances after the program begins. Thank you for your understanding and support of our nonprofit programs!
